Updates!!!

Hi One Project followers!!

Sorry I have not had a chance to post since I created this thing. It's been a long and crazy summer and we have all been busy getting things ready for the inaugural semester of The One Project. I just wanted to update you on some of the things we've been working on since I last posted.

New Resident Orientation/Kick Off Event-The most important update is that on August 29 from 1:30-2:30pm in the Cambridge Community Center 1205 we will have a kick-off event for The One Project. It's a great way for you to meet other new LGBTQA students and also to find out more about the events and the UNIV100 course.

-UNIV100- We have students registered for UNIV100!!!! That's a huge step because we weren't even sure if people would be interested. We could always use more student in the classes (section 0301 and 0302) but  we'll take the great student that we have now! We just finished planning out the class and have a lot of great sessions including learning about campus sustainability as a culture, being openly LGBTQA in the university and the city, and much more!! We're all very excited!

-Fall 2010 Events calendar- We have over 15 events available through The One Project! You can check out all the events at TheOneProjectumd.com. The events vary in type. So we have civic engagement events, social events, and educational events. We also have a coming out day discussion and support and also a Transgender Day of Remembrance. There are tons of great events!

-We got all of our advertisements out. Website, fliers and handouts! There is one typo on the flier. The LGBT Equity kick off reception is at 4pm on September 13, not at 6pm. Don't miss this event hosted by one of the hottest drag queens in DC!!

-Student leaders- We have two student leaders who have been helping us plan all the events and will act as the TAs for the UNIV class. We have Sam Mohen and Sarah Woolsey. These two are great resources for our new LGBTQA students at Maryland and will help you all feel comfortable here.
